Mumtaz Attar is now available to borrow at the Scent Lending Library in Seattleโ€”curated by

I created this attar to celebrate Empress Mumtaz for whom the Taj Mahal was built.

It is a re-imagination of โ€œShalimarโ€ and is based on my research of manuscripts from the 1800s.

It debuted in NY at the Olfactory Art Keller Gallery and now has travelled to Seattle.

Head over the library to borrow Mumtaz, and imagine the Empress walking in the rose gardens of Shalimar.

Happy New Year! This year I hope to infuse more art in my life. I recently acquired โ€˜Novemberโ€™ by Ericka Wolfe .wolf from our local JG Art Gallery

This art holds a special place in my collection and has a story behind it.

Whenever I stand looking at a painting I get a deep feeling of notes, accords, and scents. Itโ€™s not synesthesia; just an urge to explore that painting in scents. In โ€˜24 I was admiring Ericka Wolfeโ€™s The Blue Hour at our local art gallery, JG Art Gallery and mentioned Lโ€™Heure Blue by Guerlain. The discussion led to exploring a project of pairing paintings with scents.

I created an olfactory installation of a scent journey to the Pacific Northwest and a bespoke perfume for the gallery. The scents eventually became Iconic Island and Sea Glass.

Art pieces feel alive, evolve with time, and have a quiet presence. They make the space feel like my own sanctuary.

In hope my perfumes do the same for you.

2025 was a milestone year for my artisanal studio. My first post as Anjali Perfumes was perhaps 6-7 years ago. Thank you for being with me on my journey. I am so happy to be sharing my creations with you.โ™ฅ๏ธ

Joy. โ™ฅ๏ธ I get it when perfume lovers say, sheโ€™s just come in the mail. She was on the porch. I need to bring her in, let her rest for a while before I spray.

Itโ€™s alcohol. I know. It does not really need to rest.

But I understand how it feels when you want the thing you love to just breathe for a while. Just like we do.

I have a small Jasmine Sambac plant on my windowsill. Three tiny little flowers are blooming on it. I wish you could smell this little indole factory! How does this plant do it? What molecules does it suck out from the common potting soil and what chemical bonds does it bend to its will to make Indole molecule? This is a wonder of life. To me there is no joy like Sambac.

I am filled with nostalgia from my last visit to India. Women wearing flowers in their hair, flowers sold by the basket in a bazaar, flower shops on street cornersโ€ฆ

I have longed to make a very dusty market, bazaar-ish floral Jasmine perfume. It will come in 2026.

Meanwhile two different compositions are coming soon.

My perfume ๐”๐ง๐๐ž๐ซ ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐ ๐จ ๐“๐ซ๐ž๐ž is very different from the typical, fruity gourmand ripe mango scents. This is a fresh green perfume with my favorite โ€œtart, green mango skinโ€ note.

The star of this composition is Violet Leaf Absolute and Tomato Leaf. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅญ
