We’ve been conducting some intense scientific research lately…we’ve been asked about king crab so many times that we have reached out and are considering a partnership with a single Alaskan King Crab fisherman for a vessel-direct market next season. But before we offered them we wanted to make sure we had some serious first-hand experience with the actual product from the actual fisherman!

We got our hands on. 20 lb case and set to work…we ate them steamed, crab Louie, crab pasta, and crab on sourdough toast ( a family favorite)…and the verdict is in: these crabs are AMAZING!

These are brown king crab…which have a few notable differences from the red and blues that come from the currently closed Bering sea fisheries, and also from Russian imports.

1. Slightly smaller on average although there are some incredible colossal too!

2. Super sharp spines, wear gloves to shell!

3. We think the meat is sweeter and almost buttery in taste and texture. UNBELIEVABLE!

So now it’s up to you…don’t want to see brown kings added to our offerings?

We also have whole (headed and gutted), frozen-at-sea cohos for $8/lb (5-8 lb average). FAS is the next best thing to eating your fish the day it was caught…the -80 degree contact freezer have these fish frozen in minutes, and the glaze locks in that freshness that you’re sure to notice when you pull it off the grill.

OK seafood lovers - we need to clear out our inventory with the new season only a few months away. As many of you know, I've started up a new construction business which has limited my available time to market/deliver our seafood. We are not sure what we're going to do with halibut this coming next season - may just sell at the dock to a buyer. That said, if you want to stock up on our halibut, this may be your last chance for a while, and we are dropping cost to recoup processing/storage fees, etc.

But my loss = your gain!

Here's what we can offer for our 10 lb boxes of premium seafood:

Halibut 1lb Portions: $220 per box
Halibut ends/tips (one lb packages/misc size): $150 per box
Lingcod (whole or half filets): $80 per box

Hey you guys…spot prawn and asparagus risotto is a thing…like a really really good thing!

You have to love risotto to make it - you’re committed for an hour, but man oh man when it’s right, it’s right! Inspired by my wife’s favorite (but long ago discontinued) menu item at Olive Garden, this meal exceeded our lofty expectations. 10 out of 10 will make again!
