Meet Melissa! 👋

After more than 17 years in the U.S. Air Force, she continues supporting its mission through her work at Goodwill San Antonio.

Today, she is a training specialist helping our team support the Air Force’s Total Force Service Center. Through Goodwill’s commitment to creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities, Melissa helps team members build skills and confidence. She also developed a Peer Mentor training program so colleagues can learn from and support one another.

Melissa brings that same care to her mentorship. With her encouragement, she has even helped a colleague develop professionally and earn a promotion.

Bridging the skills gap means creating opportunities for people and strengthening our local workforce. 💙

As comes to a close, learn how Goodwill San Antonio is preparing individuals for careers in manufacturing through no-cost training, industry-recognized certifications, and partnerships with local employers. Since launching our Manufacturing Bootcamp in 2025, 67 participants have secured employment in the industry, earning an average of $18 per hour.
