Hey, all you monster fans out there!
The spring CHILLER THEATRE Expo is less than three weeks away, and as always, Sassy's will be at the event. Since their first show in 1990, Chiller's Guest of Honor has been Zacherley, the "Cool Ghoul." Although Zach passed away in October of 2016, he remains Chiller's Guest of Honor posthumously, refusing to die in the hearts of his fans.
Last week, Sassy's acquired an extensive collection of Zacherley monster memorabilia amassed over 30 years, which we plan to offer for sale at the upcoming Chiller show on April 25, 26, & 27, 2025. Zacherley was the East Coast's television's first horror movie host, introducing millions of baby boomers to the wild world of monster movies throughout the late '50's and early 60's. His mix of macabre humor and outrageous antics inspired countless other TV hosts to follow, including Svengoolie and Elvira. This collection belonged to Henry, a close personal friend of Zach's and includes rare and vintage books, photos, LP records, DVD's, painted models, art prints, toys, monster magazines, comics, and one-of-a-kind items - many of which were personally autographed by Zacherley himself! Henry also loved classic monsters, vampires, Femme Fatals and vintage stuff from the Monster Craze of the '60's as well, so there's plenty of great things to consider.
Beginning today, the Zacherley collection will be first posted on our website for all to view and consider prior to the Chiller Theatre show, as we know that many of you will not be able to attend Chiller. However, many the unsold items in Zacherley & Company collection will be removed from our website on Thursday, April 24, as they'll then be brought with us to Chiller.
