My first ever upcycled dress!!

I made this little number from three scraps of fabric found in the Goodwill Outlet bins. It took some trial and error, but it was a fun learning process in draping.

The tie strap in the back is an old piece of bias tape I found in my grandmother’s old sewing stuff. Some of the thread is even from her old spools.

I’m so so excited about this dress. Now if I could only find more Asian inspired fabrics as cool as these. ——————

Loose button down in a silk with a touch of texture that looks almost like striations (see pics for closer look). The gold buttons and pleated sleeves might say, “I’m on my way to a virtual cocktail party,” but the relaxed fit says, “I’ll take another beer with these takeout tacos.” This top can do it all.

CoSmIc OrAnGe CrEaMsIcLe.

Had another fun experiment with the wonders of bleach. This denim shirt was such a bright red I think it raised my blood pressure just looking at it. I love the spectrum of oranges that came through. Please notice I don’t use the word “sustainable.” Dying with bleach is not sustainable as it’s a harsh chemical. However, until I find a natural alternative I’m using bleach to revamp these textiles and find them a new home.

Size is men’s Large. 100% cotton. Brand is Flying Scotsman.
