It may be technically fall 🍂 but we are still having very warm 🌡days here in Savannah - so it’s not time to adjust those watering habits just yet!
I’m getting my last few rounds of fertilizing done and repotting any remaining plants that need it over the next few weeks in preparation for the off season

just wanted to say thank you to everyone that came out to the night market with on Friday! We had a great time and can’t wait for the next one!
October is a busy month for us with 3 birthday’s, Halloween and some travel plans but I want to host a little plant pop up in October! Possibly add a swap to the mix as well

🗓it’s that time again!
always be sure to check the soil before hand - overwatering is much harder to recover from than under watering 💡
👇🏼use the finger test to check your soils moisture levels to decide if you should water or not. If the soil is cool and sticks to your finger, you might need to hold off. On the other hand, if the soil feels dry to the touch and very little is left on your fingers, you can go ahead!
when in doubt, wait it out. The number one issue new plant parents struggle with is overwatering💦. There’s a huge misconception with plants regarding the amount of water used vs the frequency of watering when talking about overwatering
I did this starting out, I wanted to love my plants and I loved them to a soggy death 💀
If you are watering your plants every day - you will most likely love them to death like I did. The roots are not receiving the oxygen they need to thrive. This will eventually lead to root rot 😢
You won’t overwater your plants by throughly watering them AS NEEDED - given your plant has the proper soil mix (I’ll save that for another post)
The best advice I can give is to make sure you research your plants to see what their watering needs are and then over time you will be able to tell when they are a little thirsty just by looking at them!
Check your soil today & go wet your plants 💦🌿
