Now Available | German Cello – Early 20th
Century
We’re pleased to offer a beautiful German cello from
the turn of the 20th century, crafted in the Mittenwald
tradition by Neuner & Hornsteiner.
This instrument features a wide-grained spruce top
paired with a nicely flamed maple back, all finished in a
rich, dark brown varnish that highlights its age and
character. Having seen decades of music, the cello
shows visible, well-repaired work in the ribs and
top—marks of a life well played.
Tonally, it offers a mature, rich, and sweet sound with
excellent depth and warmth. This cello was the
personal instrument of a college educator for many
years and continues to respond beautifully, with plenty
of music still left to give.
A wonderful opportunity for an advancing student or
serious player seeking an instrument with history,
voice, and value.
