Running is having a major moment... and Lakewood Ranch is right on pace. 🏃♀️🏃♂️✨
From weekly run clubs to casual jogs with friends, more people are swapping screen time for stride time—and discovering that running is about a lot more than fitness. It's community, connection, fresh air, and a great excuse to get outside and meet new people. 🌴☀️
In celebration of Global Running Day tomorrow, we're spotlighting one of the area's most established run clubs: Run the Ranch at Waterside Place. Founded by Felipe Rojas, former captain and head of marketing for Sarasota Paradise, and Alex Wordsworth, a hybrid athlete and community specialist for Fit2Run, The Runner's Superstore, the weekly Tuesday evening 5K has quickly become a favorite gathering for runners and walkers from all walks of life. 👟
What started with just 25 participants in October 2025 now regularly draws more than 100 people each week. Whether you're pushing a stroller, training for your next race, looking to get active, or simply hoping to meet new people after work, you'll find a welcoming community waiting for you.
👟TONIGHT, June 2nd, Run the Ranch is turning its regular meetup into a special celebration of movement, wellness, and meaningful connection. Join them at Waterside Park (7500 Island Cove Terrace) at 6 PM for a community run featuring support from Nike, Fit2Run UTC, a live DJ, wellness experiences from local partners, and plenty of opportunities to connect before and after the run. 🎶🙌
