With hurricane season approaching, now is the time to begin preparing for emergencies. Residents who may need additional assistance during a natural disaster are encouraged to register with the State of Texas Emergency Assistance Registry (STEAR).

The STEAR program is a free registry that helps local emergency planners and first responders identify individuals who may need extra assistance during an emergency, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, those with medical needs, or residents who may require transportation or personal assistance.

Residents can register by:
- Calling 2-1-1 or (877) 541-7905
- Visiting stear.tdem.texas.gov

In the event of a natural disaster, the City of Santa Fe may use this registry to help conduct welfare checks and assist residents as resources are available. If contact attempts by phone or messaging are unsuccessful, emergency personnel may conduct in-person welfare checks when necessary.

Please note:
- Registration must be renewed each year to keep information current.
- Registering with STEAR does not guarantee specific services during an emergency.

We are incredibly grateful to these amazing kids for donating their rodeo-winning animal to HIS Ministries to help families in need within our community. After processing, this generous donation provided 25 pounds of fresh meat that will go directly to local families.

What a beautiful example of compassion, hard work, and giving back. Thank you for using your success to make a difference in the lives of others. Your hearts for service are inspiring! 🖤

For the past three years, the National Junior Honor Society students have partnered with us to help build backpacks for the children and families we serve through our annual Back-to-School Bash, and every single year they leave us amazed. ❤️

This year, 45 incredible students came together and built 500 backpacks filled with school supplies in just TWO hours! Last year, it took three hours. Watching these students work together, problem-solve, and find ways to make the process even better and faster was such a blessing to witness.

One of our favorite moments is hearing them say things like, “Wait! What if we do it this way?” and then watching them step up as leaders and teammates to improve the process together.

More than backpacks were being built in that room. These students are learning the value of serving others, working as a team, and caring for their community at such a young age, and that gives us so much hope for the future.

We are beyond grateful for the National Junior Honor Society students, sponsors, and volunteers who gave their time and hearts to help make this year’s Back-to-School Bash possible. 💜

So grateful for our Cub Scout Pack 628 families who showed up ready to serve.

Our scouts and their parents worked side by side in the food pantry—helping clients through the grocery store and offering kindness with every interaction. They also spent time in the garden planting, harvesting, and preparing fresh produce for families in our community who need it most.

Your willingness to give your time and energy is making a real impact. Thank you, Pack 628, for serving with purpose and heart.
