Tyler Polelonema (b. 1940) Duyauestewa (meaning "Bluebird") created this original painting in 1971 titled Cloud Blowers. At first glance, one would assume that the three men are smoking pipes, but in reality, they are creating clouds. The painting depicts pipes (known as cloud blowers or o-mou-m-pi) and they are central ritual objects that serve as a bridge between the physical and spiritual worlds. As a Hopi artist and a member of the "Hopi Modernist" movement Polelonema depicted these ceremonies with a mix of cultural precision and artistic stylization.

Titled "Faces of Whippers," this 1977 painting depicts the sacred countenances of the Whipper Katsinas. The piece illustrates a pivotal moment in Hopi ritual: the ceremonial initiation of children within the kiva. The narrative unfolds as Crow Mother and her two sons, the Hu Katsinas (the whippers), rush toward the kiva. Following traditional outdoor observances, they enter the chamber to meet the children. Each child receives four symbolic, light strokes from yucca whips. This rite is followed by the Hu Katsinas whipping Crow Mother and themselves before departing. The work is signed Dawakema in the lower left.

This 1979 work by Milland Lomakema demonstrates a significant evolution from his 1967 style, showcasing the more complex, abstract, and experimental approach he developed as a member of the Artist Hopid. This piece is a masterful example of Lomakema's use of stipple and spray techniques paired with sharp, graphic ink lines.
