When our youngest son was born without the first layer of skin that acts as a barrier to irritating environmental elements, we were faced with one of the most challenging and heart-wrenching experiences of our lives. Without this layer of skin, our son would develop rashes that would blister, dry, harden to calluses, and sometimes scar. For the first three years of our son’s life, he suffered and

we did everything we could to find him the comfort he so desperately needed. Visits to his primary care doctor, dermatologists and allergists were often ended with them giving us prescriptions for antibiotics and steroid creams. Disturbed by this trend and wanting a solution less medically invasive, we spent hundreds of hours on the internet, made life style changes to our household and applied Homeopathic remedies to our son’s skin care routine. In spite of these efforts, we were left wondering what more could or should we do. The one obvious solution to our son’s dilemma was Hydration. We knew he found comfort in the bath, and we set out to find handcrafted soap products that would enhance his bathing experience and that did not contain detergents and other unnecessary chemicals that could irritate the skin. Through our tireless research, we found a soap that is handcrafted with Organic Shea Butter and Natural Oils that facilitates the healing of our son’s skin. Inspired, we carried it a step further and developed a line of soaps containing essential oils which benefit a variety of ailments from acne and dry skin to smelly feet and rough skin. It is with great excitement that we offer these handcrafted bath products to you!

It’s dandelion season. 🌼
One of the most overlooked little plants is suddenly everywhere this time of year — bright patches of gold tucked into fields, gardens, and along quiet roadsides.
Though we don’t make a dandelion salve or balm here at Santa Fe Soap Ranch, I do love infusing dandelions in oil and using it in simple homemade skincare.
Funny how something most people call a “weed” can actually be so gentle and nourishing for the skin.

🌿🌞 May Moments – Simple Clean, Santa Fe Calm 🌞🌿
From The Santa Fe Soap Ranch

May is that perfect in-between — warm days, cool breezes, and longer evenings that make you want to slow down and stay awhile. ☀️

It’s a good time to clear a little space, lighten things up, and let scent do what it does best… shift the mood.

A few simple ways to refresh your space this month:
✅ Clean patio furniture & outdoor cushions
✅ Dust those high shelves, ceiling fans & forgotten corners
✅ Deep clean your kitchen sink (add a little citrus for that fresh burst 🍋)
✅ Tackle the “junk drawer” — you know the one
✅ Swap heavier scents for something lighter and herbal
✅ Add a soap dish or bundle by each sink — small detail, big difference
✅ Give the car a quick reset (inside + out)

💡 “Sun & Sage” Diffuser Blend:
• 3 drops Grapefruit
• 2 drops Sage
• 1 drop Lavender
• 1 drop Cedarwood

✨ Bright, clean, and grounded — like a quiet Santa Fe morning.

Mind still going…

There’s a moment after the cleaning…
after the gardening…
after the lists are finally done…

when the house is quiet again.

Windows open.
Fresh air moving through.
That clean, calm feeling settling in.

This is the part we love most. 🌿

A simple shower.
A favorite scent.
A few minutes to reset before the day moves on.

Not everything has to be productive to be worthwhile.

Sometimes, it’s just about feeling good in your space again.

A quiet moment in the workshop.
Wicks set, wax poured by hand, one candle at a time.

There’s something about this part of the process—slow, steady, and simple.
