We employ individuals with disabilities so they have a meaningful place to work and create beautiful art they can sell in our store to earn income!

“No plastic!” - Joaquin gets it. 👏

Some of the most common plastic waste comes from everyday items we use once and toss, things like cling wrap, plastic utensils, and disposable kitchen products.

The good news is that small swaps really do add up. At Live Oak Refillery, we carry simple alternatives like reusable beeswax wraps, metal utensils, and bamboo kitchen tools that help cut down on waste without making life harder.

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Even replacing one everyday plastic item is a great place to start.

Friendly reminder: we’re dog friendly around here. 🐾

While we ask that pups are well-behaved while visiting the shop, we always love getting surprise visits from your furry friends while you refill and browse.

We also carry a few goodies just for them, including dog brushes, toys, paw balm, and dog soap… because sustainable self-care shouldn’t stop with humans!

First Friday is back at Live Oak Refillery and this one is going to be such a fun night! ✨

Join us on Friday, June 5 from 5–8 PM for an evening of art, food, community, and creativity featuring Bumble-cat Art by local artist Kaylie Kunselman.

We’ll have colorful artwork, good conversation, and all the cozy community vibes that make First Fridays one of our favorite things we do in the shop.

Whether you’ve been here a hundred times or have been meaning to stop in, this is the perfect night to come hang out, meet people, and experience the space.

Bring a friend and come spend the evening with us!

One of our favorite parts of Day in the Park was starting this growing collection of self portraits, and now we’re continuing it in the shop! 🎨

Come add your face to the lineup next time you stop by. Funny, detailed, abstract, stick figure… all artistic skill levels are welcome.

It’s been such a fun way to create something together and celebrate the people who make this community what it is.

New in the shop: Botánica Bellissima ✨

We’re excited to now carry these locally distilled hydrosols and essential oils created by Certified Clinical Aromatherapist and Artisan Distiller, Kaysi Contreras.

Using traditional methods and local plant material, each batch is distilled right here in Santa Cruz with a focus on sustainability, craftsmanship, and connection to the natural world around us.

From calming hydrosols to thoughtfully crafted essential oils, these products are rooted in both plant knowledge and intentional care. We love supporting local makers creating beautiful products with purpose, and this brand is such a special addition to the shop.

Refillery 101: you don’t need perfectly matching jars to get started.

One of the biggest misconceptions about refilling is that you need a Pinterest-worthy setup before you walk through the door. You don’t!

An old soap bottle, a mason jar, a container from under your sink, if it’s clean, you can refill it. We also sell reusable containers and offer a selection of donated options that are free!

The goal isn’t perfection. It’s simply reusing what you already have and making small swaps over time.

Last week’s First Friday with was such a sweet evening in the shop.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, spent some time with us, and helped make it a relaxed and welcoming night. We loved connecting, sharing the space, and slowing down together.

We’re grateful for this community and for partners like Monarch ILS who make evenings like this possible.

Join us for a Day in the Park and a little time outdoors with the community.

We’re excited to be part of this upcoming event at San Lorenzo Park, a day focused on coming together, caring for our shared spaces, and enjoying fresh air with neighbors.

Hosted by San Lorenzo Park Neighbors, this event supports ongoing efforts to keep the park clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone. It’s all about community, connection, and giving back, with a little fun built in too. We will have an upcycled craft to take part in!

Saturday, May 9 from 11–3 at San Lorenzo Upper Park (Duck Island Stage). All work comes with play, we hope to see you there!
