It’s Matt Hardwick’s birthday today 🎂

Founder, owner, and master drum builder behind every repair, every custom piece, and every Premier Djembe that comes out of Drumskull Drums.

This year is especially meaningful, not only are we celebrating another year of Matt’s life, we are honoring 30 years of dedication to his craft. Thirty years of shaping wood by hand, stretching skins, solving impossible repairs, and pouring heart and soul into instruments that carry rhythm across the world.

What started as a passion became a legacy, and that legacy exists because of the community that believed in his vision.
To every client, musician, student, and friend who has trusted Matt with their drums, supported his work, and shared his instruments in circles near and far, thank you. You are part of this journey.

Matt continues to build some of the finest djembes in the world, not just with skill, but with intention, respect for tradition, and love for the music.

Happy Birthday, Matt. Here’s to the rhythm you’ve created, the lives you’ve touched, and the many years still ahead.
