Illuminée celebrates 20 years thanks to our many local customers.

:: Cooper Hewitt - Isabelle and Chris Brightman have designed for decades. From 1981 to 1991, they designed and produced jewelry clocks, lights, and small furniture from anodized aluminum. Isabelle was born in Belgium and came to the United States in 1979. Since then, she has designed objects and produced film animation, and in 2006, she founded a lighting design and décor showroom in Santa Cruz, CA.

Bracelet (USA), 1982
This bracelet was co-designed by Chris Brightman and Isabelle Brightman. It is dated 1982 and we acquired it in 1990. Its medium is anodized and sanded aluminum. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Perched on a challenging ridgeline, a new farm shed in rural Byron Bay was recognised in the category of small project architecture, with the Atelier Luke-designed building described by judges as ‘a joy to inhabit’.
