As many of you know, I am a composer. I write music. And as time and my heart have shown me, I do it so that I, and now hundreds of thousands of others all across the planet may know healing. It is the only reason that I do this. My gratitude for this gift is immense.
As any Buddhist will well you: we all suffer. That we do not know how another suffers, or why. That the cause of our suffering is us. And that, in the end ... the end to that suffering is also ... us.
The community of Uvalde is suffering, deeply, from another seemingly senseless act of violence.
I wrote this devotional several years ago. A few words to consider, followed by some time with a soundscape of mine, to allow for taking thoughts into discernment.
Please feel free to share it with those in your circle that you care about.
And then please ... become the change that we need in this country. Vote for the change we need in this country. Because we all suffer. And that suffering can end with us.
