Hello everyone.
I just thought I'd give an update on the progress of the Sims Museum.
We've had a couple of huge setbacks on opening the Sims Museum, mostly due to the Coronavirus pandemic. As some of you might know, my partner "D. Z." passed away from COVID-19 a few months ago, he was the guy that started this whole project, and in his final weeks we discussed changing the course of what we originally intended to do. After watching the other "skateboard museums" suffer we decided to just go with focusing on making decks, wheels and clothing, and the museum would just be a secondary part of our retail store, not the main focus, there's no money to be made in just a museum alone. We were in negotiations with the Sims estate for licensing (unlike the people currently making unlicensed bootleg products) but with D. Z. 's passing all of that has stalled temporarily.
And to those of you that donated old boards and equipment for the museum please contact me so I can return them too you, DZ was in charge of that and some names got lost in the aftermath of his passing.
Originally we were looking for an upscale place for the museum, but since it will now be more of a traditional skate shop we're looking at a location that will not only work as a retail store, but also possibly as a manufacturing/warehouse/retail that can all be in place, not an easy task in the crazy California real estate market right now.
So keep checking this page for more updates. I might have some shirts and hats available soon, then decks down the line, and eventually wheels.
