The Bicycle Tree is a nonprofit community bicycle center. During public hours, you can use our tools to work on your bike with the help of our volunteer mechanics. We also sell used bikes, parts, and accessories, plus a decent selection of essential new items. We also do bike rides, bike donations, youth programs, and other activities. Check out our new location - opening Saturday, June 10th 2017!

On April Fool’s Day 2006, we held our first weekly maintenance workshop at the Victor Manor. 20 years later, we’re still helping people fix their bikes.

El 1 de abril de 2006, tuvimos nuestro primer taller semanal de mantenimiento en Victor Manor. Veinte años después, seguimos ayudando a la gente a reparar sus bicicletas.

JOB TITLE: Lead Mechanic
HOURS AND COMPENSATION: 16-24 hours/week, $22-25/hr with potential expansion to full time.
HIRE DATE: ASAP
GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION: At the Bicycle Tree, Lead Mechanics work with a small team of paid staff, a larger pool of volunteers, and our broader community to equitably support bicyclists with bikes, parts, tools, and knowledge. Lead Mechanics consistently use their expertise to evaluate and repair bicycles thoroughly, accurately, and efficiently while guiding and assisting repairs performed by clientele and volunteer mechanics. Lead Mechanics may periodically engage in offsite mechanical instruction/outreach activities.

The Bicycle Tree could not offer accessible repair, donated bikes, educational opportunities, or other resources to our community without the financial support of generous supporters. In 2025, these nine donors each contributed $500 or more to sustain our work, for a total of $31,340. Most of these funds were given in December, providing much-needed relief. We are extremely grateful to all the other people who donated last year in any amount; additional financial donations totaled over $6,000. As we celebrate our 20th anniversary in 2026, please consider becoming a monthly or annual supporter of the resources the Bicycle Tree continues to share with our community.

Many thanks to these donors for their support of the Bicycle Tree and beyond:
Steve Widmayer (fixing bikes at the shop!)
Randy Kiefer (in Ukraine!)
Redlands Strada Rossa (sign up for this year’s ride!)
Greta Nagel (the birthday girl!)
Gene Cuneo (posing for his official portrait!)
Vince Buck (he also donated his 1981 Trek!)
Kenton Nelson (posing with his old buddy, core volunteer Tim Meraz!)
Joel Eckman-Maus (helping us move in 2017!)
Joshua Sawyer (riding in the rain and liking it apparently!)

We have loads of bikes and need space and cash! Starting today and running through Sunday, we are offering 10% off green tag bikes, 20% off yellow tag bikes, and 30% off red tag bikes! Our green tag bikes are tuned up and test-driven, with everything in good or better condition - these bikes are either low-mileage or fully overhauled. Our yellow-tag bikes have rolled more miles and may have lost some of their luster with time, but are also mechanically sound, tuned up and ready-to-ride; everything is in fair or better condition. Red-tag bikes have not yet been deemed ready-to-ride; some need a little, some need a lot, all can be projects you can fix up your way! Don’t delay because we’ll be closed for the holidays after this Sunday!

As usual, we have all kinds of bikes: cruisers, mountain bikes, road bikes, hybrids and city bikes, youth bikes, new and old, entry-level and high-end!

¡Tenemos muchísimas bicicletas y necesitamos espacio y dinero!
