Something about the feel of dough that just connects us and heals our souls.
Although, we will say we do use gloves on occasion when the dough is so extra sticky we just can’t stand it on our fingers + packaging of course. 🤪
Do we have any other glove-free sisters here? TAG a friend who’s also glove-free with us!

We’ve been hearing that Nestle chocolate chips are going to be made with lab-grown chocolate soon!
The more we read about the future of food manufacturing, the more we appreciate simple ingredients. We’re thinking about switching back to organic chocolate chips because we want to keep our bakery as wholesome and traditional as possible.
Plus the thought about eating a chocolate chip cookie with imposter chocolate is šŸ˜
Would you eat lab-grown chocolate?

And also don’t get your stuff stolen.
Same issues, just different era…
My sister and I used to love playing The Oregon Trail game as kids…and here we are living it in real life it seems some days.
Anyone else?

It’s so scary to think about farmstands getting stolen from…
When you put your heart and soul into making something amazing for your community and providing for your family.
So many farmstands we’re seeing lately getting broken into to — cash stolen, products stolen, vandalism. šŸ˜”
We hear so many people losing faith in humanity, or not wanting to open a farmstand due to this very reason…or even wanting to give up and close their stands altogether.
Big box grocery stores get stolen from every day…stealing is stealing. Small farmstands just feel like more of kick to the gut.
My sister and I have been fortunate enough not to have experienced this level of loss from our farmstand, but we do know what it feels like to have someone steal from you. It hurts. It feels personal and targeted.
A few things my sister and I are doing to fortify our farmstand are:
1) switching to an impenetrable cash box
2) installing more cameras
3) warning sign of the watchdog
4) installing an alarm system we can sound at any time if we notice suspicious activity
We hope we can continue to be a place where community is brought together, people can stop in for fresh sourdough bread and specialty goods, or pick up a bouquet of flowers and gift for a friend.
SHARE this with a friend to help bring more awareness and faith in keeping farmstands alive everywhere šŸ™

We remember when just baking 4 loaves a month felt like a lot…
But if you stick with something it becomes easier and easier and you learn to he more efficient.
Here’s our top 3 things that helped us scale without burnout:
1.) large capacity dough mixer…costs about $1,200 for 30qt
2.) shower caps for proofing bread
3.) aluminized steel bread pans so no need for parchment
If you’ve ever been wanting to get started making sourdough, or want more consistency to where you’re able scale up the one thing to make sure you get nailed down is your starter — the health of your starter, how to maintain it, and when to use it.
šŸ‘‰ Comment ā€œSTARTERā€ and we’ll send you your free starter cheat sheet directly to your inbox!
Be sure to check out our farmstand if you’re local to Sandy, Oregon!

The thing we didn’t expect was all the positive feedback and happiness our farmstand is bringing to everyone…
You guys are blowing up our inbox here and also thanking us in person for creating something so special to go visit. We had no idea the massive impact would create in simply spreading a bit of joy and happiness — that was definitely our goal for ourselves to bring joy to, and our hope for our community as well…but never expected to this extent. 🄹
And another pretty neat thing is that we gained another sister — is our SIL who moved back home from Vegas and is the most incredible Pastry Chef providing all the ā€˜bougie’ desserts for the stand.
Since the farmstand keeps bringing so much joy from all our communities we’ve decided that each month we’re going to keep going with the porch installs with new surprise themes inspired by movies/shows…complete with themed farmstand goods!
We need your help in determining each month’s theme…drop your ideas in comments below! šŸ‘‡
Special thanks to the talented for the whole design porch installs šŸ‘šŸ¤ŽšŸ¤Œ
