As many of you know, the website is dead and gone due to ongoing health issues. Same thing for the YouTube channel and Instagram; although they are not gone, just idle. As it's clear I will not be able to carry on with some types of crafting, I'm sorting thru things to donate to a local senior center. All of the 2-part resins, for example, are going as my doctor was very clear I need to avoid those. At 1st I thought that would also include many of the larger molds. However, a friend suggested I look into Eco Resins as they do not release harmful vapors. These will dry as a solid white cast, unlike the 2-part types. Provided they are sealed both before and after, they can be painted. So, I may not be getting rid of all molds.

I've been debating over what to do about a website for months now. Using Etsy long-term has become unattractive as they're adding in all kinds of fees here and there - beyond that collected when someone buys something - that are (IMO) pretty outrageous. In short, the more successful your shop is, the more you are hit with extra fees.
Then there's the Square credit card reader itself. At some point during a face-to-face transaction, you have to hand your open and unlocked cell phone over to your customer! Forget that! I much prefer the Zettle (PayPal) reader as it is an all-in-one device with both the chip reader type slot and "tap" services. Now I have to find a decent web hosting company that will work with Zettle and not cost too much.

As I continue to recover from this latest cancer, I'd share the fact I've been doing a lot of calligraphy of late. What I did first was buy a starter kit, but quickly discovered those pens clog quite easily. Then someone shared with me the availability of the Tombow brush felt markers. What a game changer! They just work and are sold in a wide variety of colors!

Quick update, got my last chemo treatment yesterday yay! Just waiting for this gizzy thing to pop on my arm tonight for the booster for white blood cells which will trigger the achy bones due to putting the bone marrow into over drive. But it is essentially done and thru! I get to rest and recover for a whole month before planning starts for next phase.

Quick update for those not following personal page... I've been dealing with a number of health issues as well as technical. Example: Stupid craft table I'd gotten about a year ago had the steel frame collapse next to the caster wheel. (Nearly all my "work" and storage items are on wheels so they are easy to move around in my tiny living room.) As health permits, working on getting stuff re-arranged and organized so I can work again.

I've been making a mess of what are called "ear savers" for those who, like my husband & son, are wearing masks all day. They consist of a strip of fabric (20" x 2.5") folded in half with the wrong side out. Stitch all around the edges leaving a 2" to 3" opening on one edge. (I normally do this next to the folded edge so I can easily hide my thread knot on the inside.) Turn the nice side out using something like a ruler to pop your corners out. Top stitch all around the outside edge, closing up your opening, to ensure all raw seams are well caught inside. Add 2 good sized buttons about one inch in from the narrow edges. Finished size is about 10" x 2.x," with the idea being the strap is worn behind your neck/head so the elastic loop from the mask goes over the buttons rather than the ears. It is usually easiest to put the mask on normally, then - holding the strap in position - use the other hand to move the elastic onto the buttons. The buttons can be moved, if needed, to adjust the fit until comfortable.

Snow Flowers Set - Necklace, Bracelet, Earrings

This one-of-a-kind set showcases polymer clay canes combined in a unique pendant in silver and white strung with beads made from white, black, and silver leaf in a flower design. Clasp is the button style made from seed beads and a matching marguerite flower bead. The original cane design was intended to look more like a snowflake, but as often the case with such work, looks more flower with petal shapes; hence the name of "Snow Flowers." When strung with the flower beads, clear crystals, pearls, "cracked" glass beads, antiqued silver bead caps, and seed beads the effect was so pleasing leftover beads were used to make both a bracelet and earrings set. These include not only more of the same beads as in the necklace, but mini-donuts in the same silver color enhanced with the silver leaf. Corded necklace is strung featuring a button type clasp (combo of polymer clay flower and seed bead loop). Stringing thread passes thru all items a minimum of 3 times.
