Serving downtown San Mateo since 1953, Talbot's Cyclery is your local shop for new bicycles from Giant/Liv, Norco, Retrospec, Linus, Brompton, and Tern; comprehensive repair and maintenance, as well as a wide range of accessories from Bell, Giro, ABUS, Continental, SKS and many others. Over the years the business has evolved from a neighborhood toy store to a specialty store servicing the general

toy, juvenile, hobby and bicycle needs of the San Francisco Peninsula. In the early 70's, Talbot's expanded into a full-scale, full service bicycle shop, representing quality bikes from Motobecane of France, ItalVega, Bottechia, Legnano of Italy, Don Farrell of England, Mondia Cycles of Switzerland. And our exclusive relationship with Ugo DeRosa of Cusano Milanino was formed to offer his exotic hand-built racing cycles to North America. As mountain biking became popular in the early 80's, Talbot's offered Gary Fisher cycles when they were being built by Tom Ritchey. Specialized Bicycles began marketing their still popular Stumpjumper and Rockhopper all terrain bicycles. Talbot's was one of the first shops to be onboard with the revolutionary all aluminum bicycles from Cannondale. From the days of SE Racing PK Rippers, Quadangles, FMF Aluminum Race Frames, Pattersons and GT Mach One bicycles to the current race, freestyle and dirt jumpers from Redline, Haro and Diamondback, Talbot's has the gear to keep you airborne. For the last 44 years we've enjoyed being in the forefront of the bike industry, representing the finest bikes and accessories for all aspects of cycling. And most of all, enjoying the relationships developed with our customers over the years. Children that we helped wean off their training wheels are now bringing their own kids in for their first bikes. We sincerely appreciate and thank you for your support all these years and sharing your cycling experiences with us. After many years serving San Mateo and the surrounding communities, Talbots Cyclery announced today that its closing its doors. The last day of business will be Sunday, June 30th. We’ll be focusing on selling our existing inventory so we are discounting everything in the store. All regularly priced bikes are now 10% off, parts and accessories (including helmets and gloves) are 20% off, and clothing (including bike shoes) is 40% off. We have some bikes discounted at more than 10% off - these are marked with orange tags. We will not be reordering from this point on, so while we have a good selection now, your choices will get more limited as time goes on. All sales are final. No returns or exchanges will be done. Our service department will now only be working on bikes originally purchased in our store. After Sunday, June 23rd, our service shop will be closed.
