Our San Leandro store may have been in a odd, out of the way location but we were lucky to have the most wonderful community a bookstore can ask for.

Thank you to all our lovely regulars, our Romantasy club and Dark Romance members, any and all of you who ever swung by for good books and good conversation. If you came out for any trivia contest, scavenger hunt, drawing hang, or any of the events we put on know we appreciate your support and hope we made you smile!

It may be goodbye to this location on Sunday Sept. 28th, but Books Inc. isn’t going anywhere and we hope to see you all again at our other locations!

Dear Romantasy Readers,

Join the Romantasy Book Club at Books Inc. San Leandro tomorrow at 3 pm for a very special meeting! The incredibly talented author K. X. Song will be joining us from 3:00 to 3:30 for a virtual chat about her novel “The Night Ends With Fire!”

This will also be our final meeting at the San Leandro location, as we are saying goodbye to the store at the end of the month, but the club will continue on!

Big news! 💫

In order to successfully exit Chapter 11, we are being acquired by Barnes & Noble, subject to the approval of Bankruptcy Court.

But that doesn't mean Books Inc. is going anywhere...

Going forward, we will still be Books Inc., locally run, with the same name, stores, culture, leadership, and booksellers you know and love.

More things you should know:
💫All gift cards will be honored.
💫Rewards points can be transferred into our new system.
💫Book clubs, author events, and community gatherings will continue as an essential part of who we are.
💫We plan to have a brief period during which our stores are closed for renovation.

This acquisition will give us the stability and resources to keep our shelves stocked with the books you're looking for, while keeping everything that makes Books Inc. special going strong.

We're excited to continue our story together and to celebrate our 175th anniversary with you next year!
