I overheard someone at the grocery store check-out line, talk about how pointless it is to get a dog a birthday present since they don’t have a concept of birthdays.

First, clearly this person is not a dog person (safe to say, not one of us!)

Second, this got me thinking... is it really pointless? I have 2 dogs and 1 human baby, and I get so much joy out of treating them to things even if they don’t fully understand or appreciate what I am giving them.

Because to me, that’s the point. The point is in the giving, and there is joy in making the effort to do something special for someone you love.

So this holiday season, let’s spoil our dogs even if they have no concept of the holiday season. Let’s spoil them regardless, because we love them :)
