ArtlyOwl Innovative art from creators in your community. Now on Wescover!

We started ArtlyOwl to make it easier to discover and purchase great, original artwork from artists in our neighborhood. With a focus on local, we aim to create a stronger sense of community in the neighborhoods in which we live, while also providing broader access to beautiful, original pieces and unique art events. We take a fresh approach to traditional art services, supporting a fair business

model for artists and art lovers and leveraging investments made in artwork via creative programming with selected artists. Engage with your community via one-of-a-kind pieces created by artists in your city, bring the culture of the city into your space, and help us connect the arts community to local companies and residences.

An important note from our Founder:

I am excited to announce that ArtlyOwl has joined Wescover!

In the last six years, ArtlyOwl has grown from an initial idea, inspired by an interest in connecting our friends and neighbors to all of the great local art we spotted around San Francisco, to a fully-operational business. We have curated a network of more than 175 artists across four major markets and hand-selected a collection of over 2000 artworks to showcase in our online gallery. In addition, we have placed art in both corporate and residential spaces, often in partnership with the talented A&D firms we are proud to work alongside. Most importantly, we have connected communities through art via studio visits, pop-up art shows, and unique art events – living up to our mission to democratize access to art and elevate the role it plays in our daily lives.

Wescover is a marketplace of unique art and designs — shared and sold directly by the original Creator. By joining forces we can accelerate growth, expand opportunity for Creators, and provide a broader range of art and design offerings to our clients and partners.

I am thrilled to leverage the strong foundation built at ArtlyOwl to further our mission through Wescover. Thank you for sharing our dream and providing the support that has helped us reach this pivotal juncture!

“As life slowed down, within a narrowed physical space, I’ve found opportunities to reflect in ways that were previously buried. I look for ways to highlight emotions and the invisible by creating alternative landscapes to enter and escape into within the familiarity of my home. Using light and reflective materials like an emergency blanket, I mimic the landscape and hope to evoke the feelings that arise when immersed in nature. Through this meditative process, creating other-worldly spaces, I contemplate the human impact on the land and the resilience and power of nature.” - San Francisco artist

Our featured exhibition, “Human Nature”, showcases work from five female artists who speak to the importance of recognizing human impact on our planet and the need for change.

As curators, artists and art appreciators, we are often asked to balance aesthetics with weighty subject matter. We know exploring human impact on environment and how we can enact change is critical to our collective futures but we still innately gravitate to aesthetically pleasing subject matter.

How can we balance aesthetics and communication? How can we use beauty as a means of transmitting serious messages?

“Human Nature” explores the possibility of speaking to our tenuous environmental times through visually engaging imagery that inspires a positive path forward. The five female artists showcased use their art to connect us to important environmental topics. Each has her own inspiration and visual communication method; all seek to convey the importance of protecting our planet.
