Kayo Books Friends and Customers,
After 21 years we have decided to make Kayo Books open only by appointment. We will remain at our Post Street location but the layout of the space will change and a larger proportion of our business will be through mail order and select book fairs. This decision was not fueled by the crazy changes in the San Francisco real estate market, but rather the desire to remove the personal tether to a retail store. New and old customers and friends are welcome to make an appointment by email or phone. We will continue to be active buyers and traders of good books of all persuasions as well as illustration and comic artwork, comics, pulps, posters, fanzines, vintage erotica, underground newspapers, photographs, lps, rock memorabilia, and ephemera.
To make room for this change, beginning on Thursday September 8, 2016, we will be starting a massive sale. Every item in the store will be discounted by 30 percent to start, and the discount will gradually increase up to 90 percent, until the regular store hours will cease at the end of October. Come early for the best selection. Nothing in the store is being held back at the 30 percent discount level. Many of the glass case items and most of the artwork on the walls will not make it to significantly higher discount levels so keep that in mind. If you have been eyeing something in particular, let’s talk. A few fixtures may also be sold.
Please tell your friends and feel free to post details of the sale on your favorite social medial outlet.
We thank you for the years of customer loyalty, and look forward to our continued relationship in the future.
