For this week's prompt I'm realizing I've never made a quilted jacket or bag, although they're definitely on the list to do.

I'm cheating a little bit by posting this corset vest I made for my husband to go to the pink gala for Stepping Stone this year.

It's made of a pink Kona solid and lined with a poplin in a Charlie Harper flamingo print. Pattern by Corsets by Caroline.

Also here is the first quilt I attempted (not the first to be finished) which is all Kona solids in the pattern Tried and True by Monique Jacobs.

Also thrown in here are some fun patterns I did (Mythical Weiners and Deep Dive)

Huge thanks to for hosting this collaboration this month with .gather and . It's been so fun to get to know all of the makers in our amazing community and what y'all have been working on!

This week's prompt on showing off your me made mistakes was inspired by this jacket.

It was the first garment I ever made 12+ years ago and I learned so much from it.

Starting with not pre washing my fabric: No matter how much starch or pressing I do to the pockets and cuffs they curl because the flannel underneath shank at a different rate than the denim on the outside.

The cuffs are questionably attached and I didn't really understand anything about fitting or finishing seams or why interfacing is important at the time.

It sat in my closet for a solid 5 years in shame but now that I wear it, I get compliments on it every time. But now it's my favorite reminder of where I've come from and where I am now with sewing in general!

One thing I like to tell my students is you'll see your mistakes more than anyone else, so show them off! You'll only get better as you learn more!

Don't forget to post your me made mistakes for this week's memademay hosted by and in collaboration with us here, .gather and !

Giveaway this week is for a $30 gift card to the shop here!

Week 2 of ! Sewing, crafting, creating is always better with company.

This week I wanted to show off a make my niece and I did together! She wanted a craft apron with horses so we did this project as a bit of a stash buster. Her and her brother helped me do the tie dye on some left over duck canvas I had. She also helped me with this FPP (foundation paper piecing) of a horse so we could use that as a pocket. We ran out of time during my visit up to see them so I took the rest home and turned it all into an apron with some left over binding from a quilt I did a few years back and some rope from a draw string I put in a swimsuit ages ago.

Thanks for the great prompt this week from .gather and to for hosting this event this month. Don't forget to post your week 2 pictures by tomorrow for the drawing!
