My decorations for the holiday season consist of hand-me-downs from my mom and what I have found at the thrift store!
My husband has never had a stocking in our house, and this year I was finally able to find an awesome thrifted stocking for him!
We don’t normally buy each other gifts, but when we do we hit up the thrift stores first!

The San Diego city council voted 6-3 to pass a ban on EPS foam (styrofoam) takeout containers & require that straws and plastic utensils be provided upon request only!

We rally, we fight, WE WIN! Today the SD city council voted 6-3 to pass a ban on EPS foam (styrofoam) takeout containers & require that straws and plastic utensils be provided upon request only. This ordinance includes all restaurant and retail operations in the city of San Diego. ⠀

This is a huge win for our ocean, waves and beaches. Our volunteer policy team worked tirelessly with city officials, staff and a diverse coalition of organizations to make this ordinance a reality. ⠀

Make it your New Year's resolution to reduce waste with some great reusable alternatives like these!

No disposables here. Just my and collection. I love how saving money goes hand and hand with reducing my waste. I haven't purchased disposable cling film or zipper bags in over 3 years. 🎉

At a time when more Americans are tossing straws and eating organically, some shoppers are determined to make sure their holiday gifts reflect their commitment to preserving the environment.

A Nielsen report issued in November found that 68 percent of Americans said it's critical that businesses put programs in place to better the environment, and 48 percent said they'd shift their consumption habits to lessen their ecological impact.
