This, perhaps, is one of my all time most favorite reviews. It perfectly captures the vision I have for each and every piece that I create.

Legacy....

Joyce came to me with her mother's pearls. She asked me to make necklaces for her and her two sisters; their daughters as well as the granddaughters of the family.

As I held the pearls in my hands I couldn't help thinking about Joyce's mother. Who gifted this beautiful necklace to her and what was the occasion? Did she wear it often? Could she have ever imagined that one day these pearls would be divided among her three daughters; her six granddaughters and seven great-granddaughters? Could she have ever imagine that long after she was gone she would still be tremendously loved and celebrated?

Joyce and her two sisters chose to have five pearls on their necklaces; their daughters have three and their 7 granddaughters have a single floating pearl. There were enough pearls left over for a long necklace. We finished the project with custom tags that read "GG's love lives on."

I hope that each time one of these women wear their pearls, they feel GG's love (even if they never got to meet her) and are reminded of the legacy that they are a part of.

This project has me thinking about my own legacy...How will I be remembered? Long after I am gone, when the newest generation asks, "What was she like?" How do I hope they will answer?

"She loved us well." That will be enough.

Round Top, you did not disappoint.

I’m back in town feeling inspired. I needed to feel the weird. I needed to visit the castoffs; to get my hands dirty hunting for stories and to remind myself that there is a world full of people who value owning pieces of history and not just the next amazon drop.

I added to the fringe section of my closet (doesn’t everyone have a fringe section?)(thank you )found myself an incredible pair of turquoise dangles ( you are a hoot) and hauled back a good amount of vintage tie bars and cufflinks to convert into necklaces (do you see your favorite initial here?).

I’m inspired and will be working on new pieces all week. Stay tuned!

YOU GUYS!!!

I usually only do one in-person event a year, and not only is it here, but it's NOT CANCELLED!!

It is a little different though...this year is a private, ticketed event, but they've opened it up to the public for an hour BEFORE the event begins. So not only do you get to beat the rush, you get first dibs on all the good stuff!!

If you are in the area, I'd love it if you stopped by holiday shopping event. They've so graciously put together this shopping event to support local small businesses and to help bring some Christmas cheer to everyone.

Not gonna lie...I've been REALLY isolated...I miss people. I miss connection. I miss happy. So please, stop by to say hi and check out all of the other awesome small businesses who will be there doing their thing too.
