This design is quickly becoming my most popular! I think a lot of people get engaged/married in the great outdoors! Even I did and I’m not a very outdoorsy girl. I got engaged in Central Park in NYC and married on the beach in Todos Santos, Mexico. Swipe to see photos from both occasions!

Happy Friday from me and Maggie! We are taking a little spring break trip to Joshua Tree for a few days and orders are going out just a few days later than normal. But- this is our first little vacation of the year and much needed!

HANDS ON! Today's prompt is all about how I use my hands. The better question would be how don't I use my hands! Making clay dishes is a very hands-on activity. My hands squeeze, shape, and roll clay. My hands smooth, scratch, define, and perfect clay surfaces. My hands sand, paint, and glaze. My hands get covered in clay and require frequent washing. My hands wear oven mits to take dishes in and out of the oven. My hands print out shipping labels, build boxes, and package orders.

But my hands do a lot more than make dishes every day! They pick up my toddler, hold a leash while walking my dog, type on my computer, and turn pages of books while my daughter and I read. (These hands dont cook! Thats my husband's job!)

I am looking for an independent contractor who is an crafty/artsy person with a flexible schedule to help me fulfill orders for my online business and who can start immediately. I create hand-made jewelry dishes and ornaments from polymer clay. This is delicate, work that requires attention to detail.

Check out my website at www.themudandmarble.com

This job requires someone who:

-Is very reliable and responsible!
-Can work with clay and paint for extended periods of time. It can be hard on anyone with neck/shoulder/wrist/hand injuries. Apply only if this isn’t a problem for you.
-Has a flexible schedule and can make frequent trips (almost daily) to my home in La Mesa for training, to drop off finished products, and refill supplies. The drop off deadline is 12 pm every day when you have orders that are due. YOU CANNOT BE LATE FOR THIS DROP OFF! If you are a person that is chronically late and has a hard time being on time, then this is not the job for you.
-This person will train with me for an hour or two a day in the mornings for the first few days. Then they will work from their own home with the set of tools I supply. You must have access to an oven and a clean workspace.
-You will be required to put down a security deposit for the set of tools I will supply you. The deposit will be returned when the contract is complete.
-You must be on time and communicative with me. Since you will mostly be doing this job from home, you need to respond to texts/emails in a timely manner.
-Orders can be very sporadic. I can get 20 one day and only 10 the next. Some days you will be very busy and others you may not be. Turnaround time for orders is 2 days. This is why it's important to have a flexible schedule.

As a mom and wife running my own budding online company, I am looking for someone who wants a fun and engaging side-gig you can do from home. This is a great part-time job for the crafty retired person, stay-at-home-mom, or someone who has extra time during the pandemic etc. who is looking for some extra cash and creativity in their life.

You will probably start at 15-20 hours a week, but depending on the season it could be more or less. Its almost Mother’s Day and we are busy right now!

Opportunities to help grow my product line and expand the business are available if this is a good fit.

Please apply for this position by submitting your resume and telling me why you are interested and what makes you a good fit.

The initial interview will be over Zoom.

The job will start ASAP!

Pay - You will be paid $3 per item that you make. Items have to be sellable and meet a quality standard to be paid. Once you are established and proven that your work is high-quality and consistent you will be available for a raise.

Today’s prompt is about silver linings. Mud & Marble IS my silver lining during this challenging year! I have been able to stay home and devote more time to growing my business, hire 3 amazing makers, and open new business avenues that hadn’t been possible a year ago. I have also had more time to devote to creating a lot of new designs- which is by far my favorite thing to do.

MEET MAGGIE MAE! She just got her own profile on the website and official title of "Mud & Marble Mascot".

Maggie is my 11-year-old long-haired dachshund and my best friend. She has been my sidekick at Mud & Marble since the very beginning. She sleeps at my feet every day while I work. She is an ever-present part of my life, in my business, and everything else. She also does a lot for M&M: she barks at the mailman and every delivery person dropping off supplies, she rides in the car with me to the post office every day, and does a great job as my bodyguard. She is a critical part of the team and it's about time she got her own profile on the website!
