Long Post:
Tomorrow we are going to have Free Arcade All Day. We are doing this in memory of Issac James Hokett, a young man who took his life July 20, 2021. He was a wonderful person with a bright future; loved by his family and friends (many of whom he had helped with their own struggles). His teachers thought well of him and he had aspired to be an Army Medic because he wanted to, in his own words, "save people who needed saving". He loved anime and gaming. But, as with many of us, he did face mental health struggles along with cyber bullying. He did not share his own thoughts on his struggles and sadly they did not come to light until after.
We want tomorrow to be a Free Arcade Day to remember him and to remind everyone that his story is not uncommon, Especially in our Niche community. If you or a loved one are feeling alone or isolated, you are Not! Reach out to others, talk about your feelings. If you would like more in depth help, 988lifeline.org is a great resource.
