howdy germs. you might have noticed a name change recently. and with March Meet The Maker starting, this seemed like the perfect time to start introducing my new brand. i will miss Pigsey Art and the 15 amazing years i had, but i’m excited to let loose, play and have fun with art again. germ teeth will be less product focused but i will eventually have art pieces for sale on the website. for now, the process of creating is all that i need.

One of the best parts of owning a lasercutter (my lovely Lucca) is being able to easily make custom wood pieces. Lately I’ve been playing with 3D layered wood art and “Poison Kiss” here was my first attempt at such. I considered doing this as a single layer with glitter acrylic (and I might still in the future) but I love depth and texture in art so doing it in wood layers achieved the look I was going for.

I’m already working on several other pieces that I can’t wait to share.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the San Antonio Book Festival this last weekend. It was so much fun to talk with people and be out at shows again after a long time of no events. I'll have lots of new designs and products debuting in the summer so keep an eye out 👀

I am sorry to announce that I will not be at King William Fair tomorrow as planned. I have come down with an incredibly bad cold (at home covid test is negative but still could be that) and as most of you know, Pigsey Art is just me. So I wouldn't want to infect anyone first and foremost, nevermind that I don't have the strength or focus to setup and sell.

Have a great weekend!

More elaborate than most of my sketchbook drawings, I tried out several new techniques for this Germ Teeth sketch. There are elements I want to have in future pieces. Also, who doesn't want more?

Hope is a valuable and dangerous thing: too little and you despair but too much and you may end in heartache. If one of you figures out the magical balance, feel free to let me know 😉

Writing on the go? Like to write in the quiet of nature or the bustle of a coffee shop? These small, hardcover journals are perfect for throwing around a bag or car.

Each journal features an original ink illustration laser etched on a vegan leather front and back. With 110 lined pages and a ribbon to keep your place, it will take some time to run out of foolish things to write.
