So many sweet friends and colleagues have called and texted to check on us amidst the tragic flooding in our beloved Hunt, so I thought I would post an update here. First of all, we are all safe and sound. I actually sold my summer home in Hunt over a year ago, so the kids and I were not there. My mom was in the hospital here in San Antonio all last week, so luckily, she was not there either. Unfortunately, my sweet stepdad was home during the flooding and is now trapped at their house with no electricity or water because, although their home is safe and dry on top of a beautiful high hill, the only way to get there is via a low water crossing over the Guadalupe, which is still underwater and we do not know when it will be accessible. While we are all safe, we are devastated by the tragic events and loss our sweet little town, and all those who call it home have faced. So much destruction, so many lives lost and so many still missing. It is a very sad time in our beloved Hill Country. Please pray for Hunt, pray for all those affected and pray especially for the parents and families of children lost and those still missing.
If you would like to help, please consider donating to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund established by the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country, which supports vetted organizations in the area. You can also donate to TEXSAR, a volunteer search and rescue team actively involved in the recovery, to Mercy Chefs, who are providing meals to victims and first responders, or to any of the many organizations helping with search, rescue and relief efforts. Thank you for your prayers and God Bless Hunt ๐๐ป๐
