This basic principle has been passed along through five generations and remains a guiding light to the current owner, Sam O'Krent, Samuel's great-grandson. "It's what we've built our business on. In 2001, during our 86th year in business, we re-committed ourselves to our clients by building the largest retail floor covering showroom in Texas. Our 34,000 square foot building offers three floors of every floor covering imaginable. It is truly a designer's floor covering dream come true. We continue to challenge ourselves by looking for the latest most fashion forward products available. In the course of our history we have witnessed many changes to our industry from product innovations to installation techniques. One of our most important changes occurred in 2021 when O’Krent Floors joined the National Floorcovering Alliance (NFA), a group of market leaders in their communities. As a member of the NFA, we join over 40 members nationwide in sharing best practices, developing new ideas, and fostering relationships with premier flooring brands to bring clients the best products and prices for their project. The buying power and expertise that NFA brings to the table is a wonderful compliment to growing traditions at O'Krent. Of course our story does not end with our huge selection of products - it's only the beginning. Once the perfect product has been selected it has to be installed to make the project complete. This is where the most dramatic differences come in. Here are a few quick rules that make a real difference:

🛋️ All front legs of your sofa and chairs should sit ON the rug, not float beside it.

📐 Leave at least 12 to 18 inches of bare floor visible between the rug edge and the walls.

🔲 In open floor plans like this one, use rugs to define zones. Each seating or dining area gets its own rug, letting the hardwood flow between them.
