***TODAY'S KNIFE PROJECT***
Took the karambit in 01 steel out of the coffee to reveal a beautiful, dark patina, then wrapped it in Paracord to give that cool, tactical look.
Honed a razor sharp edge on it and need to make a sheath for it.
Me little brother, Michael Payne, will be wearing & wielding this one soon...

***THIS AFTERNOON'S KNIFE PROJECT***
I recently purchased a new 1" hole bit and wanted to try it out.
I had a piece of 01 Carbon steel that volunteered for the task, so I decided to craft a Karambit.
As you can see, the handle fits perfectly in my hand, and the 3" cutting edge is perfect for cutting cake or pie...😉
It's about to be heat treated then tempered.
I'm going to keep it simple and put a Paracord wrapped handle on it.

***TODAY'S KNIFE PROJECT***
From this to this.
Photo #1: Raw materials.
Photo #2: Refined materials.
Now that the blade has been heat treated, it's in the tempering oven.
Tomorrow I'll polish it all up and prep it for final assembly.

***THIS AFTERNOON'S KNIFE PROJECT***
Completed the build on the cleaver.
Made from an 80-year old plow disc, this thing is built to last.
It's got a 6 inch hollow ground cutting edge and is 4 inches wide.
The composite handle is South Texas Cedar with a Wenge (African hardwood) spacer, brass retaining pins and a bras fore plate.
The handle is contoured with a slight palm swell for a secure, comfortable grip.
I just need to hone a razor sharp edge on it and it'll be ready for action.
What say you?
