A Message to my Mama in Heaven
Dear Mama, as I sit in my recliner this morning thinking about you. Oh, I wish that I could talk to you. Mama, I would tell you how much I love and miss you. I would take your hand and gently rub it. Then I would sing some of your favorite songs I used to sing to you. Mama, I miss your smile, I miss your voice, mama. I sit sometimes and wish my phone would ring and you would be on the other end saying' Hey, Pearl, it's mama." And I would say, "Hey, mama, how are you. Mama, I miss calling you when I wasn't feeling good, and you would tell me about some old remedies to do, and I would feel better.
Mama, I'm gonna miss coming to visit my home town. Oh, how happy you were to see me. I'm gonna miss the sweet potato pies and those field peas, okra, and butter beans you used to cook. You always had a special meal cooked hot on the stove.
Oh, mama, I'm gonna miss those flea market trips. It gave me joy to see your face light up when people would stop by your table. You would talk and talk and sell to them. Mama, I'm gonna miss your singing. I tell you what, mama. You could get the congregation to sing and shout when you sang those old gospel songs. I would give anything to sing with you again.
Lastly, mama, I remember praying for God to heal you on this side. But that was my will. God wanted to heal you divinely from all sickness. He wanted to give you a new body. Then, I started to thank Him for your 90 years of living and prayed that His will is done, not mine. His will was for you to be will Him. Mama, there is no better place than to be Jesus. Mama, I will be okay in time because I know you are okay. I'm trying to move on with my life. It's hard, but Mama, I am with the help of the Lord. Mama, I love you and will see you in Heaven one day. Love, your Pearl. ❤️
