Yard sale! I’m clearing out my inventory of what I’ve been making the past couple of years. Some of it I’ve never even posted, lots of cool pieces including fractal burned(⚡️shocked⚡️) charcuterie boards, key hangers, coffe tables, night stands and some really cool cutting boards. Boards starting at $15! Everything is priced to sell. Open tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. 1145 old Louisville rd in salvisa.

Gloss finishes are popular. You see them a lot online, and a lot of people use it. I did too, until I made this sweet table with a bunch of cool colors. I couldn’t get a solid picture of it. Every angle I just seen the lights, and the reflection of the garage and tools on the wall.

The majority of what your eye is seeing is a cheap layer of plastic and reflections. On the right is an oil finish, and you can see every detail I put into that top. Picture was taken outside, and the sunlight didn’t interfere.

Keep in mind oil isn’t as protective as something like polyurethane or laqcour. However, there are matte and even semi gloss options for those as well. If you’re going to spend some time on a top, and use very nice materials. It doesn’t make sense to apply a layer of finish to take a lot of that away.
