Since we always get calls inquiring about ammunition shipments. We have decided now that we have the room to do it that we would offer it to the people who need it. We can still order ammo for people in store, this is just for those that wish to use it.

Hey gang, a few updates and things to share:

First, Wyatt has been working hard on the 50+ surplus rifles we received on consignment and have about 15 out on display. This is an interesting collection as they were purchased in the mid to late 90s when the selection was quite good. The bulk of the collection is mainly Mosin Nagant rifles and carbines including 91s, 91/30s, Finnish capture as well, Romanian, Finnish 39s, Russian 38 carbines, 91/59 carbines and couple of 44 carbines. There are also a couple of Romanian 91 Dragoon rebuilds with distinctive stock repairs("dogtooth splices). The upside is that with these rifles being earlier imports, there are only a couple that have been counter-bored at the muzzle, and bore condition on pretty much all of the rifles are very good to excellent.
Also in the bunch are a total of 3 Enfields (No 1 Mk III and a pair of No4 Mk IIs) a beautiful 96 Swede, Chilean 1895 converted to 7.62 from 7x57, and 3 Hungarian 95s in 8x56R and a Persian contact Model 1929 Ma**er.
The bonus part is the fact that a pile of ammo for these rifles also came in.
On other fronts, a heads up for Friday June 26th as we'll be closing at 6PM. Axel has been up from LA since the first part of the month and is performing at Ariel Theater that weekend. Ariel does great things for the kids so if you're so inclined, grab a couple of tickets for the show.
For the last item, it addresses the current workload and lead times. Back in March of 1992 while working for the city of PG I was injured on the job(fell off of a 15' sea wall during a repair project). As a result of the fall, I compressed my spine and hit my head on the rocks which led me to being off work for 2 months. Eventually the injury cost me my job with the city and now here I am. Ever since, I have had slight issues with my back and left leg but around August of last year, things have been getting progressively worse and now I'm in pain pretty much 24/7. Workman's comp is in progress but slow going as I'm waiting on an MRI to see what they're going to do. In the meantime, I have made a new food group consisting of Advil which doesn't help much if at all.
Anyway, to make a long story short(yeah, yeah, too late) I'm hobbling...if you've been in the shop lately, you've seen my Walter Brennan impression from Rio Bravo. I'm trying to get work done as quickly as I can but on most days, the pain is kicking my butt and can't get as much done as I want... and I have a high tolerance for pain. But as I woke this morning at 4 AM because of it, I figured I'd try and be productive somehow.
Thanks for the ear!

Oh and one last note: I have been trying to change the shop page now for months to no avail and since FB has no help lines, I may end up having to just start a new page with the new shop name

Just a teaser... a throwback if you will to the early to mid 90's

I don't often fit grips but every now and then a customer will bring some in for fitting. In this case a Pietta Great Western II. I have to say that I am impressed with the Piettas, other than the action being a bit too light for my tastes, fit and finish is excellent along with the fact that the bolt cuts are correct and they also have an actually firing pin bushings where Ubertis do not.
Anyway, with that said, the plastic grips that came on the gun left a lot to be desired so I fit a set of Hogue micarta grips and tinted them with some of the same amber dyes I use when I finish some of my guitar necks

Every three months I spend a day handling 134 M17 pistols. Today was different as I inspected four M320s. Now my favorite is the M79 but these little things are adorable!
