How long before someone thinks I was using slang for a different plant and gets all worked up in the comment section of Instagram again? Also I gotta get a botany dork post in to remind people that I'm actually a good herbalist with a bunch of cool plants in her store.

💛 If you ever see my stuff at a silent auction you know whoever is doing the fundraising is supporting small family owned business in Salida because they were able to walk in and ask me by name to donate💛

If someone shops here regularly they are feeding my kid and I'm able to reciprocate when their kid has a fundraiser or their favorite charity needs a silent auction donation or something.

I'm forever grateful to be in a community like Salida.

If you ever see me being unfriendly to salesmen please consider that I tried politely first to get them to leave and something about two men ignoring the no soliciting sign to try to corner me with an AT&T sales pitch when I need to work brings out my inner gangster and I really wish these corporations would consider how it feels to be a woman alone at work with multiple men who refuse to leave and maybe educate them on how triggering that behavior is.

Once upon a time my maternal grandfather's relatives got off a boat from Ireland and the census says they worked as maids. According to family lore (and historical records) the people they worked for kept all the spices, tea, coffee, chocolate, etc in a locking cabinet in a pantry because it was rare and expensive and you can't have the help using it all. I've always wondered what they would think of the Apothecary. If they were anything like my Grandpa Jake they would laugh at my social media page because half this humor comes from him. Maybe someday I'll give a tour to my other ancestral lines.... Just don't tell the Spanish you guys call me the village witch.

In today's episode of Katie talks a little s**t about stuff she's passionate about to remind people her store exists I present..... "Please don't force tameness on wild things, because wildness is really special and if the whole world gets tamed my soul will die, now I'm off to spend the whole day with plants indoors (at the job I really do love) but really I need to be in a high mountain creek looking at a brook trout so please come to my store so it's not all in vain"

Swing by the store if I can help you find anything or answer any questions about the shop or it's products.

Bonus points if you hear me say "let me know if you need anything " to the next person who walked in and then get irritated at me and say "you already said that" even though I was obviously addressing the person who just walked in and not repeating myself to you over and over.
