Permanently Closed The WHS Thrift Store accepts donations of household goods and clothing in good condition. Donations are accepted up to 4 p.m. on open days.

All donations are entirely tax deductible, and the proceeds from all sales go to support Willamette Humane Society programs. Your donations make a difference and are greatly appreciated. Please call ahead to schedule large donations (more than 12 boxes) or furniture donations: 503-362-6892.

The Oregon Humane Society Thrift Store, formerly Willamette Humane Society Thrift Store, closed its doors on Dec. 31, 2024.

The decision to cease operations of the store was not made lightly. It will ensure we are allocating our resources to better support our mission and make the most impact for pets and the people who love them. We are grateful to our staff, volunteers, and everyone who has donated, shopped, or volunteered with us for the past 50+ years.

You can still help the animals at Oregon Humane Society by making a donation, volunteering, or attending one of our events.

We want to share an important update about Oregon Humane Society’s Thrift Store in downtown Salem.

After extensive analysis and thoughtful consideration, the decision has been made to close our store at the end of the year. This decision was not made lightly. It will ensure we are allocating our resources to better support our mission and make the most impact for pets and the people who love them. We are grateful to our staff, volunteers, and everyone who has donated, shopped, or volunteered with us.

Our top priority is supporting our Thrift Store team through this transition, and we will be working with our staff and volunteers to explore other opportunities within OHS.

Our final day of operation will be December 31, 2024, and we will no longer be accepting donated thrift store goods as of December 1. Our annual Holiday Bazaar will still take place on November 15 & 16, and we hope to see you there!

We are also looking for an organization that may want to “Adopt our Thrift Store.” If you know of a local non-profit that may want to take over operation of the Thrift Store, please send us a message.
