Salem Town Market

Salem Town Market Salem Town Market was started May 1, 2021. We welcome all types of vendors.

We are going to a monthly rather than a weekly format, although people may use the lot to set up on Saturdays as long as it is not being used by the fire dept or monthly market.

✨ BIG NEWS FOR THE SALEM TOWN MARKET! ✨
Hi everyone! 👋 I’m Leigh, owner of The Brew Lab , and I’m so excited to officially announce that I’ll be taking over the Salem Town Market from Mrs. Susan!
First and foremost, I want to give a HUGE thank you to Mrs. Susan for everything she has done to build this market over the last 5 years and bring our community together. I’m so excited to continue that tradition while bringing some fresh ideas and new energy to the market! 🛍️🌿

And now… OCTOBER! 👀🍂
We’re working behind the scenes to make the October market something special, and I’ll be announcing the date, time, and location VERY SOON!
There will be some exciting changes coming as we move forward, all with one goal in mind: making the Salem Town Market even bigger, better, and more fun for our community, vendors, and local businesses! 🧡
So stay tuned… because this is just the beginning! 👀
🍂 New ideas
🛍️ New vendors
🎶 More community fun
☕️ And the same small-town market feel we all love.
October is going to be a good one. We can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on! 🤎

Thank you to all the Salem Town Market Vendors for the month of August. One of our goals were to occasionally charge a fee and donate the money to a worthy cause. We wanted to do our part for the community. Today we donated 220.00 to the Salem Fire Dept for their event fund as a thank you for the use of their lots for the past 5 years.

From Leigh Roach.
Hi everyone, I just wanted to say a big thank you to Mrs. Susan Floyd Taylor for everything she has done. You truly have no idea how much time, effort, money, etc. that goes into running a market like this and all while doing this for free out of the kindness of her heart. I have a lot to learn but have been in the process of learning and being partners with her for a good while now. I’m happy to be taking over, with her help as she will give it! With that being said, I am open to input and have no intentions of cancelling this market that we have worked so hard to build but do not need help runnng it yet. There will be a small rebuilding period and I ask that everyone be patient during that time and I will give updates as I have them. I hope everyone will stick behind me and with me through this and know that I’m not making any quick decisions. Thanks!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know this will be the last market held in this location. The fire department will be building a storage building on the main lot. At this time there has not been another location found. As for me, I have decided to retire from the market business. It is just too much work and stress than what I want or need at almost 74. I have enjoyed the past 5 years, made many wonderful friends. I will continue to sell my gourds from my garage. You can find me through my personal page, Susan Floyd Taylor or my Taylor Made Painted Gourds page. When Leigh finds a suitable location to continue the market, then that will be announced. Love to all. 💗

📸❤️ Many people don't realize that Pickens County Shelter of Hope is home to individuals from all walks of life, including senior citizens.

Today, 15 of the men and women staying in our facility are seniors, making up a significant portion of our residents. Our current oldest resident, Ms. Marian, is 90 years young!

This simple photograph says so much. 🤗

While sharing a meal, our Maintenance Manager (Josh) sat down with Ms. Marian for conversation, fellowship, and companionship. For many seniors experiencing homelessness, being lonely can be just as difficult as the circumstances that brought them here. A friendly conversation, a shared meal, and genuine kindness can make all the difference.

Homelessness doesn't discriminate by age. Sometimes it looks like a mother/grandmother who has outlived her support system. Sometimes it looks like a senior living on a fixed income who can no longer afford housing. Sometimes it looks like someone who simply needs a safe place and caring people around them.

At Pickens County Shelter of Hope, we're not just providing shelter. We're building relationships, restoring dignity, and creating a community where people know they matter.

When you donate, volunteer, or support our mission, you're helping provide meals, shelter, care, friendship, and hope to people like Ms. Marian and the many other seniors who call our shelter home. We are grateful for everyone who helps make this happen.

Because everyone deserves to age with dignity, respect, and love. ❤️

Thank you for helping us ensure that our elderly neighbors have a safe place to stay, warm meals to enjoy, and people who genuinely care about them.

Every person matters. Every story matters. Every life matters.
