These two beautiful babies were thrown out of a car window yesterday. The neighbors came and told me. They were so very happy to have someone save them. They went right in the carrier on their own. They were so hungry 😞

Both are so sweet and loving. Whoever did this; karma awaits you!

July Update

First, I want to apologize for getting our July numbers posted later than usual.

This past month has been a whirlwind. Now that I’m home from the hospital I’m able to start catching up on everything that fell behind.

Before I share the numbers, I want to take a moment to thank the people who made sure Hank’s Bark Box never missed a beat while I was away. A huge thank you to my mother-in-law, my brother-in-law, and my grandson for helping keep things running around here.

I also want to thank every single one of you who took time out of your busy lives to rebag food into Ziplock bags and stop by each day to stock the box. That kind of generosity can’t be measured. It reminds us that Hank’s Bark Box has never just been about Heather and me, it’s always been a community effort. This community truly is the heart of everything we do.

Now, on to the July numbers.

You’ll notice they’re presented a little differently this month. I’ve included our traditional monthly totals, but I’ve also broken out the food distributed during our special Large Bag giveaway events. Those events were only possible because of the incredible generosity of this community and the overwhelming donations we received.

Thank you all for making it possible for us to continue helping families keep their pets fed and at home.
