RedGreen Rivers

RedGreen Rivers RedGreen Rivers™ - Authentic products inspired by tradition & artistry. Ethically sourced to support makers & their craft. Fair & direct trade.

RedGreen Rivers™ is a social enterprise that works with artisan makers from the Mekong Region in Southeast Asia (most of whom are women and girls) who are incredibly talented in making traditional handicrafts. We get to know their stories and learn about their gifts and talents, and then we design, produce, and purchase directly from them using fair trade principles to bring beautiful items to the

market. Our products are not mass-produced, because our focus is on quality and authenticity. When you buy from RedGreen Rivers™, you not only support a maker and help preserve an indigenous art form, but you also get a unique product that few other people will have. We value artistic talent born from traditional designs and are in the business of creating and supporting sustainable communities.

Dear RedGreen Rivers Community,

As 2025 comes to a close, we want to extend our heartfelt appreciation for your unwavering support. Whether you joined our events, purchased handmade products, shared our mission with others, or simply believed in the power of women’s artistry — you helped make this an extraordinary year.

RedGreen Rivers has always been more than a marketplace. Yes, we proudly partner with women artisans across the Mekong Region to bring handcrafted products to life using traditional skills passed down through generations. But equally important, our work is sparking deeper conversations about responsible consumerism — reminding the world that who we buy from matters, and that craft, culture, and community are deeply connected.

This year, your support made remarkable milestones possible. One of the brightest highlights was welcoming master fiber artist Li Yang Sawangsaroensap from Tak Province, Thailand, to the U.S. for a month-long artist residency. During her stay, Li shared her knowledge of HMong h**p cultivation and backstrap weaving with more than 300 community members across Minnesota and Wisconsin, passing on a skill rooted in heritage, resilience, and women’s ingenuity.

We are also thrilled to share that we completed an 11-minute documentary, Ib Txuj: One Single Thread, capturing the intimate and meticulous process of HMong h**p weaving. This film stands as a tribute to the women who have carried this tradition forward, thread by thread. Please watch on the link below and subscribe to our YouTube channel .

We wish everyone a very happy New Year!!

RedGreen Rivers is a social enterprise rooted in the belief that who you buy from matters. Beyond the marketplace, we also work to educate consumers, curate exhibitions, and support artists, always putting social impact before profit so that everyone can thrive and build sustainable communities together.

RedGreen Rivers isn’t just preserving traditional crafts — we’re sparking conversations about responsible consumerism and celebrating the power of women’s artistry to sustain both culture and the environment.

At the October 25th, Cypher Side Dance School Arts Celebration at of America, we shareed a five-minute preview of our newest documentary, Ib Txuj: One Single Thread — a beautiful look into the Hmong tradition of h**p cultivation and backstrap weaving.

The short film, which will premier soon, takes viewers inside the art of h**p textiles, tracing the process from raw fiber to finished fabric, the foundation of all traditional Hmong clothing and a reflection of our identity.

As we mark 50 years of Hmong resettlement in the United States, it feels more urgent than ever to revive and sustain the traditions that define who we are.
