Some things to know before you head to the Midwest Black Book Fair this Saturday!

🎟️ This is a FREE & TICKETED EVENT
- Located at UROC (2001 Plymouth Ave N)
- Free parking in the NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center Parking Ramp
- We will have ramps + accessible doorways
- Vendors + food to enjoy throughout the day (bring payment methods)
- Free water (cups available but bring your water bottle) and restroom access
- FREE Swag Bags for the first 500 registered attendees! Bags include a book, stickers, pins, & bookmarks. Must be picked up by 2 PM or it will be released.

Come ready to discover dope authors, connect with the community, shop with vendors, attend workshops, grab some food, and celebrate the inaugural Midwest Black Book Fair! 🖤

🌊 SAPPHICS, THIS ONE’S FOR YOU. 🌊

Join us at Black Garnet Books for a free watch party of The Lovers by on August 30 from 7:00–8:30 PM! This event is FREE to attend!

The Lovers is an independent Tagalog/Taglish animated thriller set in a dark fantasy Philippines, following Sara Lim Baylon, a seafood chef from Binondo, Manila, who finds herself caught between family expectations, a struggling restaurant, and a very dangerous attraction to a mysterious sirena.

We’ll have snacks, adult beverages, and sapphic prizes you can win when you shop with us during the event!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who showed up for the We Outside Audiobook Walking Club this summer! 🥹

There’s something so special about getting outside, pressing play on a good audiobook, moving our bodies, and being in community with one another. Thank you to everyone who walked, talked, laughed, listened, encouraged, and simply showed up. Your presence made this experience what it was!

This gathering is for anyone who cares about working for better communities, in community, which is hopefully everyone reading this! Join us for our next Graphic Novel Club, hosted by Joey! This time, we’re switching things up and diving into a manga but don’t worry, we’re still bringing all the thrills, snacks, and lively conversation you’ve come to expect. 👀

For this meetup, we’re reading a wild and wonderfully chaotic story about Koharu, who gets a second chance at life by becoming a Cupid. Her mission is simple: help humans find love.

The problem? Modern Cupids don’t use bows and arrows; they use high-velocity fi****ms.

As Koharu tries to navigate her new role, her eccentric mentors take a decidedly unconventional approach to matchmaking. Love triangles become tactical operations, and helping people fall in love has never been quite this dangerous.

Come ready to read, snack, and talk all things manga.
