There are lots of one-of-a-kind items for Father’s Day gifts at the Mall of St. Paul. Here are some ideas from my upstairs and downstairs booths.

Using my travel benefits again. This time I’m searching for new treasures for my booth and, of course, probably me too! I’m in France for their second largest flea market, la Grande Réderie Amiens. I love the serendipity of searching for treasures in new places.

I had the good fortune to spend a bit more than two weeks traveling in Taiwan, with a brief hop over to Hong Kong, this month. It was unrelated to my vintage business (although I did bring back a few things for my booths 😉), but a chance to go somewhere I’ve never been before. My husband, who works for an airline, is retiring this fall and, although my benefits won’t disappear, they’ll never be this good again so I’ve increased my traveling quite a bit last year and this one. Here’s a quick look at a few highlights from my trip.

We went out to dinner on Eat Street earlier this week to support one of the locally owned businesses. It was surreal to walk by the murder site of, now memorial for, Alex Pretti Good. If you’re able, I encourage you to head there for a meal. There are many delicious options and there were no ICE agents about at dinner time, just people visiting the memorial and grabbing a bite to eat.

My youngest daughter and I are visiting Seoul. It’s a fabulous trip and our first time in South East Asia. I have no clue what day or time it is at when I post—or forget—my daily birthdays. No flea markets for me on this trip although we hit a great vintage shop a few days ago (no purchases). Mostly we’ve visited museums, palaces, the DMZ, and other cultural sites. I am beguiled by the cute characters EVERYWHERE. The pink and blue fellow above represents Seoul and the lovely Buddha on the right was at a temple this morning, There were even ones (not pictured) at the DMZ!

I was lucky to get to some great flea markets in Europe this fall and have been bringing items in regularly. Here’s a quick look at some of the places I shopped. Most of what is pictured was too large or too delicate to make it into my carryon.
