Hello everyone! In light of how much inventory there still is to go through, we are going to host a bag sale. $5 per filled grocery bag. Sale will be 8/30-9/1 from 10AM-8PM. Please feel free to bring your own bags, too.

Thank you everyone who stopped by, shared posts, and told friends. We are very grateful for all of your support! We are a bit overwhelmed with how much inventory her shop still has, despite our and your best efforts. It is likely we will host a bag sale soon as well. Our primary goal is to avoid putting things in the hands of people who will send it to the landfill (Which we feel would dishonor Wendi's memory.) PLEASE keep an eye out for our posts about that. And again, thank you deeply, for turning out and helping us as we handle the closing of Practical Goods.

The great Ward garage sale at Practical Goods will be Thursday August 21st through Sunday August 24th. Doors will be open from 11am-6pm those days. This will be the last chance to buy anything related to Practical Goods. Also, everything will be heavily discounted. Please invite your friends and family. Heck, invite your neighbors and strangers! We are heavily hoping to sell off a good chunk of her inventory. Please feel free to message me at [email protected] with any pertinent questions.

Dearest Practical Goods customers;
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of Wendi Ward, the proprietress of Practical Goods. She passed away Monday, 7/14/25. There is an article in today's (7/19/25) Pioneer Press addressing her life. Her obituary will be published in the Pioneer Press tomorrow and Monday (7/20/2025-7/21/2025). We intend to open her shop for one last hurrah, to sell her inventory and make it easier to manage, but have not yet established when that will happen or how. Please email [email protected] and indicate if you are interested in her celebration of life or attending the last day of Practical Goods (or both.) Until then Practical Goods will remain closed.
Wendi was very grateful for her friends, customers, and community. On behalf of her family, thank you all for 24 years of support and love.
