Morel season is almost upon us, which felt like the perfect excuse to bring a little mushroom bounty to tomorrow’s 🍄

I’ll be there from 8–1 with my beeswax mushroom candles, including the morels and Amanitas. A tiny forest of slow-burning spring magic.

Come wander the market and say hi 🌿

There are some spaces that ask you to slow down the moment you walk in.

Cygnet is one of them.

This is not a traditional market. It is an evening shaped with intention, a small group of artists, thoughtfully arranged objects, and a pace that invites you to linger.

I’ve been asked to bring a curated selection of candle forms for this space. Pieces chosen to live alongside ceramics, textiles, and design objects. Not everything, just what belongs.

PAIKKA’s bar will be open throughout the evening, with a small menu of cocktails, wine, and spirit free options. Chloe Buford will be DJing, carrying the rhythm of the night.

You can explore work from and more, along with fresh garden rose bouquets to take home.

It’s free to attend, just come as you are.

I would love to see you there!

Come early, take your time, stay awhile.

Mini Disconnections – Phone Vacation

Recently, I spent some time at the ocean with my family and made a small decision that felt surprisingly big. I left my phone at home.

In the days leading up to the trip, I noticed a quiet anxiety rising. Not about work or communication, but about what I would do when I was bored.

No scrolling. No quick check-ins. No habit to reach for.

What unfolded was simple and lovely.

I watched the waves.
I felt the breeze and the sun.
I played with Owyn.
I read an entire book in two days.

The day after returning home, I taught a Begin Within Yin + Nidra class, and I was reminded that Yin offers another kind of phone vacation. A gentle step out of the constant stream of input, stimulation, and urgency.

We do not have to disconnect completely to feel the benefits.

Small pauses count.

A quiet drive.
An hour before bed.
A candle lit without distraction.

Lighting a flame can be a simple way to mark a small shift:
for this moment, I am here.

Sometimes a small disconnection is all it takes to feel connected again.

There’s no clear way to show up right now.

We are living inside fear, grief, and exhaustion, and still being asked to function as if nothing is happening.

I’m choosing honesty over business as usual.

Holding care for our community, especially our most vulnerable neighbors.

Minnesota, I’m with you. 🕯️💛

There’s a lot moving through our communities right now.

This is a small reminder that staying human doesn’t have to be loud or perfect. Sometimes it looks like slowing down, checking in, and choosing kindness where it’s possible.

If you’re feeling tender, you’re not alone.

Today is the Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year.

Winter invites us to slow down, to turn inward, to rest rather than resist. The cold sharpens our awareness, the dark offers quiet, and the stillness reminds us that rest is part of the rhythm, not a detour from it.

A beeswax candle does not chase away the dark. It meets it. Steady, warm, and alive. A small reminder that even in the deepest night, light exists.

From here, the light begins to return.
Slowly. Gently. Surely.

Happy Solstice.
May you find comfort in the glow. ✨

Thank you to my beautiful friends who made this image with me .starborne love you!! 💛

This weekend asked a lot of us.
Subzero temps, frozen fingers, deep breaths, and showing up anyway.

This was the view from my little kiosk at the on the closing night of weekend 3. A sky lit up in soft warmth while everything around us was absolutely freezing. It felt like a quiet gift, a reminder to keep going.

To everyone who bundled up, braved the cold, and came out to support local makers, thank you. Truly. Minnesotans are built different, and this weekend proved it again. 💛

And to my fellow vendors and small businesses here, the ones who hauled, set up, stood, smiled, and shared their craft through slow moments and cold hours, I see you. These weekends can be tough. When foot traffic is lighter than hoped, it can weigh heavy. But the care, effort, and heart behind every booth still matters.

I’m feeling deeply grateful, quietly hopeful, and excited for what’s ahead. With one final weekend to go, I’m choosing to take this glowing sky as a good sign. Here’s to a beautiful closing weekend, warmer weather, and a strong finish together.

With so much appreciation,
Sara ✨🕯️

It’s the small things that make a table feel like home.
