Don’t put those feeders away just yet! Hummingbirds still need your support to help fuel their migration.

We recommend keeping your feeders out at least 2-3 weeks after your last hummingbird sighting. Some species may come through as late as mid October!

As always, use a 1:4 ratio of white sugar to water, boiled and cooled; clean feeders every 2-3 days, and avoid using soap or red food coloring.

Stonecrop is the umbrella name for over 600 species of succulent-like plants that are native to North America, Europe, and Asia.

Because of its’ fleshy, water-retaining leaves, Stonecrop is a wonderful addition to rocky, sandy, scorching dry areas. They require a minimum of 6 hours of sun a day to achieve vibrant foliage and plentiful blooms.

Pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and wasps famously rely on fall bloomers like Stonecrop to fuel their migration when the summer flowers start to fade. The small, sweet, nectar filled blooms are almost irresistible to many of our pollinator friends.

Fun Facts:
*In ancient times, Stonecrop was believed to have protective properties and was often planted on roofs to ward off lighting.
*In today’s times, Stonecrop is planted on roofs and walls to help combat the urban heat island effect.
