For those that were never able to see it in our physical location, we made a regular effort to capture those important influences from our musical retail, performance and education community that have been influential and/or passed on. It’s a constant process with many more additions that we’re still looking for pictures of. Fortunately, it now resides with us in a private collection that we get to enjoy each day. Enjoy!

Three years ago we opened up our passion, hearts and a desire for something better to our community. We struggled through it , but loved every minute of it as well. Barrett’s Music will continue to work with and support our musical community, but today we locked up and said goodbye to our storefront for the last time. Thank you all for the support over these years, and have a safe and wonderful holiday season.

The last several years have proved challenging for many, and in many different ways. The pandemic ushered in countless obstacles for the retail world, some easier to combat than others, but for us, it has proved to be just too much. We've fought as hard as we can through this environment to serve our community, but find that we can no longer fulfill your musical needs, and meet the goals we set out to achieve in our communities, at least not in our current capacity.

Therefore, we will be closing our doors sometime in the near future. Barrett's Music will continue to operate and serve the musical community, particularly it's aspiring youth, and will also continue to maintain a digital retail presence, but beginning in a few weeks from now, we will no longer be able to operate a physical retail and educational space in Central Minnesota.

This has been a very painful decision for us to make, and we feel indebted to the thousands of wonderful patrons, as well as our amazing staff, that have been with us over the last three years. As we begin to wind down what has been a truly wonderful adventure for our family, we will be offering sales throughout our store over the coming weeks, and will be accepting gift cards until we do finally close our doors for the last time, a date which we'll determine in the very near future. Please consider stopping by, as we'd love a chance to see you all one last time.

Finally, Central Minnesota is very special in our opinion when it comes to being an artistic and musical mecca. Please don't take that for granted, support live music and the arts, and continue to to ensure that future generations have the same opportunities and more!
