"I want to thank him for the life we shared."

Finnish poet and translator, Maire Saaritsa Hansard, gave an emotional speech at the funeral of her husband, Glen Hansard, yesterday at St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin. She then read a small early poem she had written for him, in return for the songs he had written for her.

Come to me with beauty. I require
it to stay alive.

I'm not talking of precious gifts, nor do I want a dolled-up, dutiful
and well-assessed array of tender
