Happy New Comic Book Day!

1st is Absolute Catwoman 1. Unlike her mainline counterpart, this Selina who see's stealing as a means to an end. And after pulling off her one last job is set to retire to a private island away from the horrors of the Absolute Universe. But when an old ally is attacked, she's forced back into the fray leading to a fun action-packed chase with an unexpected vehicle and a surprising revelation that DC decided to spoil with an announcement yesterday. But for those who managed to avoid it grab your copy while you can.

Next Avengers Armageddon sets up the new status quo for Marvel as Red Hulk has taken over Latveria (dubbed New America) and is planning to take over the world. Though mostly setup I'm curious to see how this series will play out for the Marvel Universe as a whole. That & Red Hulk makes for a surprisingly compelling villain in building on his great character work in last years great Red Hulk series.

Ben 10 2 continues the darker but still fun reimagining of Ben 10 as we get to see more aliens as Ben learns more about his powers and we learn more about Grandpa Max and his mysterious connections which is a good mystery for those who don't know, and fun foreshadowing for those who do.

Black Cat 11 is my second favorite cat themed story this week as Felicia has royally ticked off The Punisher whose out to kill her. From fun action, verbal sparring, the description of Frank as a "dead eyed ammosexual" & the revelation that Frank has the Goblin Slayer like ability to be immune to luck powers & I continue to enjoy this series much more than I thought I would.

Finally, Transformers 33 explores Optimus having to come to terms with the fact he has lost his powers as a Prime & is now merely Orion Pax & what that means after the millions of years, he spent as Prime. But in between this introspection we get some fun action as well as a heck of a cliffhanger.

Happy New Trade Tuesday! (For the DC & PRH titles)

The Punisher Brain Bleed brings Frank Castle back to Earth from the Hell dimension we last saw him. With no memories except his killing skills something compels him to continue his one man war on crime even as a figure manipulates him from the shadows.

Next the 3rd volume of the current ASM run shows someone impersonating Peter Parker & another impersonating Spider-man while Peter is lost in space.

DC Finest Team Ups collects classic superhero team ups from the Brace & The Bold and Super Team Family comics.

Absolute Green Lantern 2 sees the Lanterns take refuge with a bitter ex as Hector Hammond hunts them down with his new test subject and Sinestro starts making his way to Earth.

Sonic on the Go Vol 3 starts the darkest arc in the series as Eggman's metal virus continues to turn all living things into robotic zombies including Sonic who must keep running to slow the infection as the others search for a cure.

Mister Magic follows the surviving child stars from a mysterious childrens show Mister Magic who reconnects and realizing that somehow there is no record of the show they starred in existing. This forces them to return to where the show was filmed to try and find clues both on the enigmatic Mr. Magic and their friend who died so mysteriously all those years ago.

The Tankers is a sci fi satire about an oil company inventing time travel to delay the asteroid hitting Earth for another million years so there can be more fossils to make into oil leading to paradoxical consequences.

Rick & Morty Compact collects several storylines from the early days of the series into a more convenient and edible compact form.

100 Cupboards is about a boy who discovers 100 cupboards behind his bedroom wall leading to many worlds. Now he must navigate them to find his missing cosing before the evil in the walls escapes.

And finally The Babe at My Back Has Her Eye on Me follows the shenanigans of the most popular girl in school folling in love with the main character after he saves her life and his attempts to avoid her flirtations.
