Paws A Wow

Paws A Wow A UNIQUE PET LIFESTYLE BOUTIQUE CELEBRATING THE HEART ♥️ OF YOUR BEST FRIEND 🐶 🐱

08/27/2026

It’s National Dog Day! Because of that, my company is pleased to be the Title Sponsor of the “Paws on the Trail” Dog Fair which benefits the Forks of Coal Foundation in Alum Creek at the Claudia L. Workman Wildlife Education Center.

This facility has so many hidden services for Kanawha County. I encourage everyone to visit the property to take advantage of their trails, learn about Appalachian conservation efforts, and get more involved in our State Parks & Division of Natural Resources.

Come see us before 8 p.m., grab some dinner, and don’t forget to show the event flyer to your server so 10% of your food purchase supports Little Victories!

🚨 WE NEED OUR COMMUNITY TO HEAR US. 🚨

For the past two weeks, adoption fees were sponsored in hopes of helping more dogs leave our shelter and make room for the ones who would inevitably need us next.

Only a handful were adopted.

Meanwhile, the strays kept coming.

And coming.

We are in an emergent situation.

Look at your social media feed. How many posts have you seen lately that say:

“Does anyone know this dog?”
“Found running loose…”
“Can someone keep this dog until the owner is found?”
“Animal control has been called…”

Those dogs have to go somewhere.

We are that somewhere.

But right now, too few dogs are leaving through adoption and too few are leaving through rescue to keep pace with the number of dogs our community needs us to take in.

There is no hidden room at the shelter.

There is no second building.

There is no endless row of empty kennels waiting for the next stray.

When the dogs already inside have nowhere to go, we have nowhere for the next one to go either.

This is bigger than simply saying “the shelter is full.”

We need adopters.

We need rescues.

We need people who have been thinking about adopting to understand that now is the time.

And we need our community to help us reach beyond the same group of people who already follow this page and already care deeply about these dogs.

Please share our available dogs.

Tag the friend who has been talking about getting a dog.

Send a dog’s picture to someone who might be their person.

Talk about them at work.

Share them in your neighborhood and community groups.

If you can adopt, please come meet them.

Because tomorrow another dog will be found standing beside a road.

Another will wander into someone’s yard.

Another will be picked up by animal control.

And that dog is going to need a kennel, too.

We desperately want to continue being the place our community can turn to when a dog has nowhere else to go.

But we cannot do that if nobody helps the dogs who are already here go home.

Please help us make room.

🐾 Adopt. Rescue. Share.

Right now, every kennel matters.
